WELCOME TO SEAGULLS POST

 Submission Guidelines

 

- We do not accept submissions that are currently under consideration by another journal or publisher.

- We do not accept previously published work. Any work is considered previously published if it appears in print or on the web, including personal blogs.

- We do not accept submissions that focus on controversial subjects (politics, sex, and religions).

 

For poetry, articles, and short stories, we only accept submissions through our email: info@seagullspost.ca

 

 

Articles

- Seagulls Post publishes a range of material from Canadian and international scholars, writers, and poets. We are interested in articles on all subjects relating to literature, literary culture, and artistic production. We welcome articles that engage in literary and cultural analysis from any number of perspectives.

- We ask that the authors submit a short biography (50 to 100 words) and an abstract (maximum 150 words) with their papers. Articles should be between (2000 to 3000 words) in length, including endnotes and references.

- Files must be in Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx). Articles in Portable Document Format (.pdf) will not be accepted.

- Accepted articles will be published in the magazine and on the website. ​

Poetry:

- All poetry submissions must include a short biography that lists previous publications or, for as yet unpublished poets, a few lines that give context for your work.

- Poems can be of any length up to 2 pages. Please do not include more than 6 poems per submission. Files must be in Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) only.

- Accepted poems will be published in the magazine and on the website. 

 

Short stories:

- Short stories submitted to the magazine must be original and previously unpublished. 

All manuscripts must be written in English. Translations are acceptable but must be accompanied by a copy of the original text.

- The editors aim to respond to manuscripts in a timely fashion and ask that you wait a minimum of 2 months to send follow-up inquiries. Please send inquiries by email to info@seagullspost.ca and include the phrase “Submissions Inquiry” in your subject line.

- We ask that the authors submit a short biography (50 to 100 words). Short stories should be between (900 to 1500words) in length.

- Files must be in Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) only. 

- Accepted short stories will be published in the magazine and on the website. 

 

Book Review:(coming soon)

- We accept reviews for recently published Poetry books (2020 and after).

- A book review should be between (500-1500) words in length.

- Files must be in Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) only. 

- Accepted book reviews will be published in the magazine and on the website.
